THE TRUTH w/DML 4/21 (episode 15)

THE TRUTH — Tonight’s show is a bit different.  Instead of DML appearing on camera from the studio, we offer you never before seen footage of DML at the border.

DML never released this footage because he decided not to include the story of Border Patrol Agent Nick Ivie in his film They Come to America II.  However, the conversation he records between rancher John Ladd and an unnamed border agent leaves questions as to whether Ivie was killed by friendly fire.

Ivie was killed in a shootout in southeastern Arizona in 2012. According to Border Patrol officials, Ivie opened fire on two fellow agents thinking they were armed drug smugglers.  He was killed when the agents returned fire not knowing they were shooting at Ivie.

We’ve included an excerpt from an article from Desert News that explains the events:
“Two sets of agents approached an area where a sensor had been activated from different directions and encountered each other in an area of heavy brush. Ivie, 30, apparently opened fire first and wounded one of the other agents but was killed in the return fire.

Sensors are set up in different areas along the U.S.-Mexico border to detect smugglers or illegal immigrants, with Border Patrol agents responding when they’re set off. The shooting occurred in a rugged hilly area about five miles north of the border near Bisbee, Ariz., an area known for illegal trafficking.”

The video below was shot in an area not far from where Ivie was killed.    The video picks up moments after DML and John Ladd saw smugglers preparing to enter the U.S.  Although DML did not capture the smugglers on camera, he did capture the border agent who came from the opposite direction and confirmed he had seen the drug smugglers just 30-seconds earlier and that they are armed and dangerous.

The rest of the video is disturbing in the sense that the border agent admits he isn’t sure about Ivie being killed by friendly fire. If you listen closely, you will hear him talk about the Mexican army being in the area often, and that the Mexican army and the cartels know when the Border Patrol is actively securing the border, and when they are not.  It is widely known that the Mexican army and the cartels work together.
