Tucker Carlson’s Ratings Surge Compared to Megyn Kelly

Fox’s Tucker Carlson has outpaced his predecessor, Megyn Kelly, by double ratings during his first two weeks of hosting.

Only two weeks into hosting Fox’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” he is already is averaging 3.7 million viewers, and is up 95 percent in viewers between the age of 25- to 54-years-old, reports The Hill.

Carlson’s numbers are 37% higher in viewers and up 50% in the news demo compared with compared to the same time in 2016, when “The Kelly File” hosted the 9 pm ET time slot, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Since taking on the new role, Carlson has averaged 775,000 viewers per evening compared to Kelly who averaged only 398,000 between Jan. 11–22. of last year.

He began occupying the new show on Jan. 9, after Kelly announced her decision to leave the network for NBC. She claimed her decision to leave the network hinged on wanting to spend more time with her family, even though it reportedly meant a large pay cut.

The rating surge is clear evidence that Fox News managed to transition the highly coveted time slot rather seamlessly after Kelly’s sudden departure.
