TV Ratings: Megyn Kelly bombs with Jones

In spite of the hyped-up preview of her controversial interview with InfoWars founder Alex Jones, Megyn Kelly’s third episode of her new NBC show, “Sunday Night” was a ratings disappointment.

The Hollywood Reporter stated Kelly’s new show received no huge lift from the interview with Jones, averaging only 3.5 million viewers.  This marks the third week in which Kelly failed to beat a rerun of the CBS show, 60 Minutes.

Kelly’s first episode, when she interviewed Russian president Vladimir Puttin, drew in about 6.1 million viewers, but her second show fell to 3.6 million viewers, and the third just shy of that.

Her interview with Jones received a huge backlash from the Sandy Hook families, even causing NBC to hold “crisis meetings” as they tried to decide how to respond to the outrage.

A local NBC station in Connecticut even refused to air the program, out of respect for the Sandy Hook families.

After NBC aired their preview of the show, Jones leaked out an audio of the entire interview online, as he alleged NBC had heavily edited their version.

Kelly claimed one reason she did the interview was that Jones “has President Trump’s ear.”
