Two men are dead and a woman was injured after a gun fight broke out in the restaurant of a crowded Arizona mall on Friday night.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, an “altercation” turned deadly at the Firebirds Wood Fired Grill Restaurant at the La Encantada Mall in north Tucson at 7:30 p.m.

“All three individuals were known to each other, but the specifics of the relationship are unknown,” Sheriff spokesman Cody Gress said in a news conference, adding that an investigation is ongoing.

The shooting was contained to the restaurant and was not random, said Gress. One handgun was used.

The woman was shot in the leg and is currently being treated in a local hospital. Her injuries are non life-threatening.

Deputies did not make any arrests, and they are not looking for any suspects, stated Gress.

“The specifics of the actual event itself is all that’s being investigated right now,” said Gress, adding, “This is a very active scene with a lot of witnesses and a lot of things to sort through.

Everyone was evacuated and accounted for from the restaurant.

One woman who witnessed the shooting said that she and her family were in the bar, which was very busy, when one man pulled a gun on another man and shot him in the head in front of shocked patrons.

“He shot him in the head right in front of us,” she told a reporter. “The guy fell to the ground, and the woman with them was behind [the shooter]. He turned around, grabbed her arm… and started pushing her down the hall towards the bathrooms. We heard two more shots in the hallway.”

“It was crazy, People were running, crying, trying to call 911,” she recalled, adding that police arrived and quickly got the crowd under control.
