Two people stabbed at popular park

Reportedly, two people were brutally stabbed at a popular downtown public park in Boston. One of the victims remains in critical condition, while the other is in stable condition.

The attack took place Wednesday evening at Boston Common Park. Police were able to arrest three of the suspects as they attempted to flee the vicinity on a subway train.

Authorities received a call just after 5:20 p.m. regarding a fight at the Common. Officers in the area arrived within 20 seconds of the initial reporting of the disturbance.

Police Commissioner William B. Evans said one victim had been stabbed in the stomach and was in critical condition. He said the other victim suffered a superficial wound to his back.

It is unclear as to what the motive was behind the stabbings. An investigation is currently underway.

The names of those involved have yet to be released.
