Army officials told reporters on Friday that a drone launched in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, on Tuesday has yet to be recovered after losing transmission.
“Despite considerable efforts to locate the missing Shadow, it has not been found and is thought to have disintegrated upon impact somewhere in the local area,” an Army statement read.
A quick-reaction, overwatch drone, the Shadow can fly for nearly 10 hours and close to 80 miles per each deployment.
Anyone with a tip in regards to the downed $1.5 million drone is asked to call the Fort Huachuca Installation Operations Center at (520) 533-2291 or the military police desk at (520) 533-3000.
