New documents released by Rep. Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, show that former national security advisor Michael Flynn was singled out and warned not to accept payments from foreign sources without approval.
“These documents raise grave questions about why General Flynn concealed the payments he received from foreign sources after he was warned explicitly by the Pentagon,” Cummings said in a release.
Cummings, along with House Oversight Committee chairman Jason Chaffetz said they have every reason to believe Flynn did not get proper approval for payments from foreign sources or properly report the payments.
They have attempted to reach out to several agencies including the White House for information on the matter.
According to the Washington Examiner, Flynn received payment from Russia’s state-sponsored TV for a speech he gave in 2015.
