UPDATE: Multiple fatalities, suspect in custody, in Florida high school shooting


At least one person has been confirmed killed, with more than 20 and less than 50 injured in the school shooting at the Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect is now reported to be in custody, and has been identified as a student at the school.

Fox News reported that Florida senator Bill Nelson stated “many people have been killed.”

Florida Governor Rick Scott released a statement, saying, “Just spoke with POTUS about shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. My thoughts and prayers are with the students, their families and the entire community. We will continue to receive briefings from law enforcement and issue updates.”
