The article on the USA TODAY website starts off like this:
Donald Trump casts himself as a protector of workers and jobs, but a USA TODAY NETWORK investigation found hundreds of people – carpenters, dishwashers, painters, even his own lawyers – who say he didn’t pay them for their work.
The USA TODAY claims Donald Trump has been sued at least 60 times by individuals and businesses who accuse him of failing to pay for work done at his various properties.
USA Today also reported that two of Trump’s now-defunct businesses were cited 24 times beginning in 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, and that more than 200 liens have been filed against Trump or his businesses by contractors and employees dating back to the 1980s.
Trump told USA Today that he only withheld payment from contractors if he wasn’t pleased with their work.
You can read the entire article or watch the video connected to the article (see below), but keep in mind the article and the video appear to be very one sided. For example, in the video they highlight a contractor who claims Trump’s denial of payment forced the company into closing its doors for good. However, the article never mentions what the contractor failed to do to force Trump into not paying the remaining $83,000 on the contract. Nor did it mention how the company was doing at the time or any complaints about the business in the past.
