An Ohio man woke one morning last week to find he had the beginnings of a full blown bed bug infestation in his home, and a smashed window to boot.  How the bed bugs got there is the troubling part.

Fox News 19 reported that authorities were called to the home of a man in Middletown, Ohio, after he found a front window pane on his house covered with bed bugs. The man told police he saw a woman flee his apartment and drive off in a white car after the incident. He claims a fire was lit underneath his car, also.

The man declined an interview, but a female neighbor said the vandal also threw a brick through her window.

“I’ve had to move my couch away from the window,” the woman, who did not want to be identified, told FOX 19. “I shouldn’t have to live like that in my own home.”

Bed bugs are parasitic insects of the cimicid family that feed exclusively on blood. The most common bed bug is prefers to feed on human blood.   A number of adverse health effects may result from bed bug bites, including skin rashes, psychological effects, and allergic symptoms.
