President Trump, who has said that Alec Baldwin reignited his ailing career by mocking him on Saturday Night Live, was mocked by the liberal actor on the comedy program last night.
The SNL cold open depicted Baldwin as Trump and Kate McKinnon as President Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania at a joint press conference.
Baldwin’s Trump touches on a number of recent headlines in the skit, including a joke about Putin: “Before I turn over to these freakshows here, I just want to read a prepared statement to prove that I can read”… “Do not congratulate Putin.” He then continued on saying: “Time to freestyle. First of all, a big congratulations to Vladimir Putin … even though no one’s been tougher on Russia than I am, including Hitler.”
The skit also poked at Trump’s recent feud with Amazon head Jeff Bezos, with Baldwin’s Trump admitting: “He’s way richer than me and he admits to being bald so I feel threatened on two levels.” The press briefing ended with Trump also admitting the presidency is a “cash grab.”
“I don’t care about America,” Baldwin says as Trump. “This whole presidency is a four- year cash grab and admitting that will probably get me four more years.”
