Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders brought up former South African President Nelson Mandela while rallying an audience to vote for him.

“Some of you may be familiar with Nelson Mandela … and his fight for freedom in South Africa and people marching to the polls,” the Vermont senator said Tuesday in Nevada. “Well, we’re fighting to change America.”

The article goes on to state the following:

“Let’s go out. I think the polling booths are pretty close to here. … Let’s change America,” he continued.

Sanders has been taking heat recently for the behavior of some supporters.

In Nevada, a union that warned its members against supporting him has been targeted with aggressive tweets and messages.

In Colorado, a fight broke out while Sanders was speaking at an event between supporters, including one who was wearing a T-shirt that said “Black Guns Matter.”
