A black state lawmaker in Georgia said she was approached by a white man in a Publix grocery store and told “to go back where you came from.”

State Rep. Erica Thomas described the alleged incident in an emotional Facebook Live video on Friday.

The article goes on to state the following:

“This white man comes up to me and says, ‘You lazy son of a bitch. … You need to go back where you came from,'” she said. “I said, ‘Sir, you don’t even know me. I’m not lazy. I’m nine months pregnant.’”

Thomas’ video (see below) has gone viral. Surveillance footage of the alleged incident has been discovered and police are investigating, according to WSB-TV.

The incident comes after President Donald J.Trump told a group of progressive congresswomen known as the “Squad” -Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) and Ayanna Pressley(Mass.)- to “go back” to their home countries in reaction to their comments about America, which he described as “disgusting.”
