Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg rebuked the staff at Bloomberg News for being upset with the election coverage policy the outlet implemented in the wake of his presidential announcement.

After Bloomberg announced his candidacy last month, the outlet’s editor-in-chief John Micklethwait revealed that their reporters would no longer be permitted to investigate any of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates; however President Trump remained fair game.

The article goes on to state the following:

He was asked about the outcry from Bloomberg News reporters during an interview with CBS’s Gayle King, which aired on Friday. Bloomberg said that those reporters “just have to learn to live with some things.” He added, “They get a paycheck. But with your paycheck comes some restrictions and responsibilities.”
