Fox News aired a report on Monday that the Clintons are seeking end-of-the-year donations to “change more lives in 2017.”
Bruce Lindsey, Clinton Foundation Chairman, sent an email to donors last week stating, “Your contribution before the end of the year is so important that President Clinton is personally TRIPLING every gift to the Foundation, up to $200,000. Please give now so we can change more lives in 2017.”
Daniel Halper, Washington Bureau Chief at The New York Post, weighed in on what is happening with the Clinton Foundation after allegations surfaced of pay-for-play and other mis-dealings throughout the election. He claims there is a “desperate” attempt to recoup losses following Hillary’s embarrassing second presidential campaign failure, and hints at a loss of faith in the Democrat Party.
Halper believes the Clinton Foundation is all the Clintons have left and that they are trying to “keep it afloat” and “earn their reputation back.” But, he maintains they have a “long way to go in rebuilding their reputations.”
Regarding a future in politics for the Clintons, Halper said it is “non-existent” and that “nobody is turning to the Clintons and asking: ‘How do we rebuild?'”
When asked how the Democrat Party views the Clintons after her devastating loss to Trump, he said there is “almost no love [for] the Clintons.” He added that the Party views the loss as Hillary’s fault and affirms the “need to move on, in order to rebuild.”
Since the Clintons no longer have favors to hand out, one Fox & Friends anchor points out, “It will be a key test to see if donors in the past were donating to really change the world or, rather, to influence decisions at the State Department or White House.”
