A brave dog saved a baby deer from drowning in the waters of Long Island, New York, this past weekend.
Recalling the incident, dog-lover and owner Mark Freeley said he was taking his golden retriever, Storm, for a walk on Sunday when the dog “plunged into the water and started swimming out to the fawn, grabbed it by the neck, and started swimming to shore.”
Freely captured the heroic moment when Storm transported the 3-month-old deer to safety – by paddling as fast as he could toward the shore – on video in Port Jefferson Harbor. He then posted it on Facebook, writing, “What a morning … Can’t believe this, Storm just saved this baby deer.”
The video has since been viewed millions of times.
