First Lady Melania Trump posted a video message on Wednesday, thanking medical workers and those working on the front lines amid the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S.

“To all of our medical personnel and other frontline responders, on behalf of a grateful nation, thank you,” the first lady said.

“The president and I appreciate all you are doing to keep the people of our country healthy and safe. In the most difficult of times, the United States never fails to rise to the occasion with both unity and strength,” she said.

“We stand united with you, and we salute your courageous and compassionate efforts,” she added.

Wednesday morning, a new milestone was reached, as the number of reported cases of coronavirus in the United States surpassed 400,000.  By Wednesday night, the number of reported cases had already climbed to 434,927.

The reported death toll in the U.S. reached 14,788 by Wednesday night.
