FLORIDA — When an alligator got stuck in a manhole, a trapper was tasked with pulling the massive creature out by its tail.
A video of the gator’s rescue by a trapper in Oldsmar, Florida was captured live and then posted to Facebook by John Ruel of Tampa, who wrote that the gator was trying to get out of the sewer when it got stuck.
“The trapper tried to pull him out but his girth was too big so he had to push him backwards [then] pull him out through the manhole,” said Ruel, who also posted a video of the trapper taping the animal’s mouth shut. “He tried to pull him out but he was too fat so his only other choice was to go backwards and through the manhole.”
The video can be viewed below:
Ruel further described the gator as being approximately 9 feet long, noting that “The trapper said he would not be euthanized.”
