A high school classmate of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Friday defended Kavanaugh against accusations of sexual misconduct, saying “to the day I die, I will believe that he did not do this.”

Tom Kane, who attended Georgetown Prep with Kavanaugh, said on CNN’s New Day that he watched the testimony of Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford “from beginning to end ” before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Kane began his interview by expressing sympathy for Ford saying “something bad clearly happened to her.”

He then praised Kavanaugh’s opening statement, claiming that he effectively answered all the questions posed about the situation.

“It reinforced what I already knew, that he’s just not capable of doing this,” he said.
