Shepard Smith from Fox News takes a walk down memory lane in the video posted below. He reflects back on some of the biggest stories of 2016 that dominated headlines such as:
– An anti-government standoff involving armed militants at a wildlife refuge in Oregon.
– Arrest of the world’s most wanted drug lord, El Chapo Guzman, after his notorious prison escape.
– State of emergency declared in Flint, Michigan from a lead-contaminated water supply.
– Signing of a controversial law to limit bathroom options to individuals who identify as transgender in the state of North Carolina, which sparked retaliation among business owners.
The biggest story of 2016 could easily be when Donald Trump “pulled off the biggest political upset in history becoming the next 45th president,” says Smith.
Lastly, he recaps that the year finished out with a tragic fire that broke out in a warehouse during a concert in Oakland, California.
Looking ahead to 2017: “President-elect Trump begin his first year in office and the whole country waiting to see how he follows through on his promise to make America great again and his pledge to drain the swamp of corruption in Washington, D.C.,” says the news anchor.
