ATHENS, Ohio (WCMH) — A gun rights activist is calling for President Donald Trump to strip funding from Ohio University after she says a ‘riot’ broke out when she tried to record a video on campus.

In a Twitter post, Kaitlin Bennett said she and Dayton talk radio host Joel Patrick were faced with a riot when they showed up at Ohio University. They were there to record a video for Bennett’s website, Liberty Hangout.

The article goes on to state the following:

In 2018, graduation photos of Bennett carrying an AR-10 rifle on Kent State’s campus went viral, resulting in her gaining a large social media following. She currently has more than 278,000 followers on Twitter.

“This is what happens when a Trump supporter goes to a college campus. Leftists at @ohiou started a riot when @Joelpatrick1776 and I showed up, and the @oupolice let it happen. I think @realDonaldTrump should strip funding from universities like this that harbor terrorists,” Bennett tweeted.

Patrick also tweeted about the incident, responding to videos of the incident from alternate angles.

“OU students came out to hurt feelings today. bye gun girl,” tweeted Twitter user “Talon.”

Patrick replied, “I genuinely feel a little bad for the students directly behind the truck…because they experienced 175 decibels of trainhorn…on second thought…”

“When gun girl tries to post a video acting rough and tough because she carries let’s not forget this is how her yee yee ass left OU,” wrote “kate from the internet.”

“No this is how you leave when you have a job so you afford a sweet ride,” Patrick wrote.

OU police issued a statement, and Bennett responded, “They threw projectiles and poured hot coffee on us, and there’s video of your officers witnessing @Joelpatrick1776‘s truck being vandalized. But yeah, just ‘some unknown person in the crowd splashed water.’ I can’t wait until @realDonaldTrump takes away your school’s funding.”
