HACKENSACK, N.J. (WCBS 880) — The Bergen County Jail was placed on lockdown Tuesday following five reported cases of mumps among inmates.

“The isolation of the jail means no additional inmates will be accepted at this time and no one out until we are comfortable that there is no risks,” said Bergen County Executive James Tedesco.

The five cases were clinically diagnosed but the tests have not been confirmed, according to a spokesman from the County Sheriff’s Office.
