Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen was employed for a global security company, G4S, who contracted out for both public and governmental security jobs.
A video has surfaced from a 2012 documentary that shows Mateen working as a security guard during the 2010 BP oil spill. The one-minute clip shows Mateen speaking with a reporter, seemingly very skeptical about the clean-up efforts.
“No one gives a s*** here. Everybody’s just, get out to get paid. They’re like hoping for more oil to come out and more people to complain so they’ll have jobs,” Mateen tells a reporter who pulled up in a vehicle. “They want more disaster to happen.”
Six years later, Mateen was responsible for disaster himself, slaughtering 49 people and leaving 53 wounded, in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.
G4S has confirmed that Mateen is in fact the security guard featured in a scene from the film “The Big Fix,” according to the Orlando Sentinel.
At the time of the terrorist attack in Orlando, he had been working for G4S for over eight years, most recently as a security guard at a gated retirement community.
