Video has emerged showing brothers Rex and Rob Ryan in a bar fight in Margaritaville in Nashville last weekend. Since then, the two have been accused of assault by bar patron Matt Havel, 30, of Pueblo, CO.

The video shows Havel talking to the brothers at their table when a situation arose after something was said to provoke Rex, a former Jets coach, who can be seen in the video shoving Havel.

Rex then picked up Havel’s margarita to move it onto another table when he got bumped, spilling the drink all over Havel. Then, Rob grabbed Havel’s neck.

Havel said he still doesn’t know why the two coaches attacked him, but he has since filed a simple assault report against the Ryan brothers.

“We didn’t say anything like, ‘You guys are bad coaches.’ We were sitting there for an hour, hour-and-a-half, talking, and then it wasn’t with them, it was with the son and the nephew,” Havel recalled. “Then we had pictures of Matthew’s championship ring on my wife’s hand. You don’t let that out of your hand for anybody.”

Rex reportedly was reacting to “heckling from the uninvited guests” and attempted to “keep the peace.”

The original video of the incident showed Rob, an NFL coach, being restrained and grabbing Havel by the neck. Rex tried to break up the fight by removing Havel’s hands from his brother.

According to a statement from he Metro Nashville Police Department on Wednesday, “This matter is under investigation by the MNPD’s Central Precinct. No arrests have been made and no charges are presently outstanding.”
