VIDEO: State Trooper rescued from vicious roadside attack

Below is the harrowing dash cam video of a Michigan State Police Trooper who chased a motorcycle rider on the freeway only to end up as the victim of a vicious attack himself.

The event happened in February, but the video was released this week.

Trooper Garry Guild was driving on U.S. Route 31 near the Indiana border when he attempted to pull over a man due to an allegedly stolen motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle started to pull over before speeding away.

Guild gave chase and eventually caught up to the bike when it crashed into a ditch on the side of the road.

The video shows the arrest of the motorcycle rider, Michael Barber, take place right before another car pulls up. A man exits the vehicle and runs toward the trooper to pull him off of Barber. According to the report, that man was Barber’s brother, Travis Wise.

Wise is shown putting Guild in a chokehold as Barber returns to attack him, as well.

As the attack ensues, Jerry Burnham and his wife are seen pulling over to the side of the road to help, and then a second driver also showed up. These passersby were able to overpower the brothers and helped Guild take them into custody.

Both brothers were charged with assault, resisting an officer, and other counts.
