On Monday night, Vice President Mike Pence told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he’d accepted an apology from “The View” co-host Joy Behar, but that she should also apologize to the other “tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended” by comments she made on Feb. 13. On Tuesday, Behar did just that.
In February, Behar made anti-Christian comments, joking that communicating with Jesus might be considered a “mental illness.” She later apologized to Pence privately.
On Tuesday, co-host Whoopie Goldberg introduced a clip of Pence discussing the segment on “Hannity,” after which Behar addressed the audience.
“I think Vice President Pence is right,” Behar said. “I was raised to respect everyone’s religious faith. I fell short of that. I sincerely apologize for what I said.”
The hosts then changed the subject and focused on Trump firing Rex Tillerson as secretary of State during their “Hot Topics” segment.
