The White House Coronavirus Task Force is holding it’s daily press briefing on Thursday afternoon, along with President Trump.

The briefing comes just after the Senate passed a massive $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package on Wednesday night in a 96-0 vote. The House is expected to vote on the bill on Friday.

The deadly coronavirus pandemic has begun to rapidly escalate in the United States, with a total of 81,943 cases now reported across the nation, and 1,176 deaths.

New York has become the epicenter of the pandemic in the U.S., with 37,738 cases reported in the state, and 385 deaths. Most of those are in New York City.

Experts have warned that the deadly virus may soon explode in New Orleans, raising concerns about its spread in the southern states.

Worldwide, 525, 605 cases of coronavirus have been reported, with 23,711 deaths as of Thursday afternoon.
