A water buffalo owner was pierced to death after trying to make the animal fight during a festival in Vietnam.
Dinh Xuan Huong, 46, died on Saturday during the annual water buffalo fighting festival in Hai Phong, northern Vietnam.
Relatives said that Dinh was an experienced buffalo handler and trained the animals for ten years.
But his water buffalo erratically became angry and chased a rival owner before turning on Dinh and pinning him up next to the fence.
Graphic footage shows Dinh being knocked to the ground by the water buffalo after it head butts him in his backside.
Dinh attempts to get up and hold off the animal, but it gores him before flinging him up in the air- piercing his leg with its horn- and tossing him around 14ft into the air.
Struggling, Dinh tried to get up on his knees but seconds later the buffalo smashes into his head knocking him out cold.
Dinh was taken to the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Hopsital, but he later died, having suffered disastrous injuries to his brain, spine and legs.
Vietnamese authorities later shot the buffalo and suspended the Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival while drugs tests were carried out on all the creatures.
