Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California said Friday she intends to lead Trump “right into impeachment.”
In an interview with “Cheddar” on Friday, Waters was asked, “From your tenured opinion, what is it that Americans can really expect over the next four years out of President Trump?”
“Well, I hope he’s not there for four years,” Waters responded. “I hope that this man and who he is, what he’s done, the way that he has defined himself, the way that he is acting — I am hoping that we are able to reveal all of this. And my greatest desire is to lead him right into impeachment.”
The interviewer pushed back on her for skipping the inauguration.
Waters said, “Well, the inauguration is a ceremonial event, and it certainly doesn’t mean much of anything except you’re going to this event to welcome in the new president and to rejoice in the fact that he won.”
She declared, “I don’t welcome him, I won’t rejoice in him being the president, I don’t honor him.”
