White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said Monday that President Donald J. Trump will not have a psychiatric evaluation along with his physical exam later this week.

Asked while aboard Air Force One whether Trump would undergo a psychiatric exam amid reports in the mainstream, liberal media that there are concerns about his mental fitness for office, Gidley simply told reporters, “No.”

Gidley did not elaborate on the exam, nor detail what it would involve. But he did elaborate on the president’s mental health, saying, “He’s sharp as a tack. He is a workhorse, and he demands his staff to be the same way.”

Reporters were quick to share the news on social media (see Twitter examples below).

President Trump’s routine physical exam will be conducted at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside Washington, D.C.

According to the White House, Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson is the physician who will be issuing a public report on the results. The public report usually includes an update as to the president’s physical health, and notes any health problems.
