Islamic Relief is Britain’s biggest Islamic charity. Islamic Relief is claiming it wants to “break down barriers” and convey the positive side of Islam. The first step in doing this? Pasting a huge message on the sides of hundreds of London buses. The ads read: “Subhan’ Allah” or “glory to Allah.”
People reading the advertisements are urged to “gather the rewards of Ramadan.” This is accomplished by donating to Islamic Relief. And in case you did not know, Islamic Relief had its accounts with HSBC bank closed after “concerns that cash for aid could end up with terrorist groups abroad”.
The announcement of the new ad campaign came on the heels of London electing its first Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan. Islamic Relief called it a “nice irony” that the two events coincided.
