In honor of “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”, the White House announced it will host a “mock briefing” for the children of journalists this Thursday.
Issued by the Office of the Press Secretary, the memorandum read, “On behalf of the President, the White House will welcome your kids to join you at work to partake in this year’s Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.”

“Children ages 5-13 are invited to come into the White House to shadow you. … This year’s national theme is #COUNTONME. The White House Press Office will hold a mock briefing along with other fun activities,” the statement explains.
The injection of children into the White House briefing room can’t help but feel synonymous to a recent skit aired by Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” The skit released earlier this month revolves around Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s pleading for harmony with a classroom full of children, a jab at Spicer’s conduct in the briefing room.
