WikiLeaks Wants Trump’s Tax Returns

On Sunday, WikiLeaks called for President Trump to release his tax returns so its organization could post them online. This comes after senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway declared the president would not publicly disclose the documents.

The issue of Trump’s tax returns made center stage today after a petition was created Friday.  The petition calls for the “immediate release of Donald Trump’s full tax returns, with all information needed to verify emoluments clause compliance.”  The petition has received more than 100,000 signatures, which warranted a response from the White House.

Prior to Trump being elected president, he said he wouldn’t disclose the documents because he was under an IRS audit.

After Conway made her remarks on ABC NEWS, WikiLeaks took to Twitter encouraging them to leak the tax returns.

A short time later,  WikiLeaks posted a second tweet that took aim at the president for refusing to release the documents, citing it was a “breach of promise” that is “more gratuitous than Clinton concealing her Goldman Sachs transcripts.”
