Winners At The Golden Globes

“La La Land” was Hollywood’s big winner Sunday night at the Foreign Press Association’s Golden Globe Awards, winning every award for which it was nominated.

The musical won a record-breaking seven statues, including best musical or comedy, with the show’s stars, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, winning best actor and actress in the musical or comedy category. 

The movie Moonlight won for Best Motion Picture, Drama, Casey Affleck won Best Actor for Manchester by the Sea, and Isabelle Huppert took the Best Actress award for Elle.

When it came to the best of television, the Golden Globe awards were distributed more evenly among the many shows now available on that medium, including a Best Comedy award going to FX’s Atlanta as the Best Actor award going to the show’s creator, Donald Glover.

The Crown, a Netflix original show, won Best Drama series and afforded Claire Foy the Best Actress award in a TV drama for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II.

Billy Bob Thornton won the Best Actor prize for his role in the Amazon drama, Goliath.

Tracee Ellis Ross won best comedy actress for ABC’s Black-ish.
