On Sunday evening in San Francisco, a woman was blinded after a stranger dumped bleach on her face.
At around 7:30 p.m., the 57-year-old woman, sitting on a sidewalk in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood, was approached by a man in his 20s demanding she move from the sidewalk.
Reportedly, she was resting when the man approached her and told her to get up and leave. He then walked away.
Shortly after the encounter, he returned with a cup in his hand which she believed to be bleach. He proceeded to pour the liquid on her face, causing her to lose vision.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital after the attack. Officials did not elaborate on her loss of vision.
According to reports on Tuesday, the victim was expected to survive.
