A Kentucky woman has been taken into custody after she set her husband on fire and then drove him to a hospital.
Vera Wooten, 40, dumped gasoline on her husband and set him ablaze following a fight at their home in Corbin on Monday night, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. Officials say she then took him to a hospital for medical care.
The husband was airlifted to a Cincinnati hospital in critical condition, with burns on more than 50 percent of his body.
Wooten is being held in the Laurel County Detention Center. She has been charged with assault.
It’s unclear if she has a lawyer. An investigation is currently underway. It is unknown what the argument was about
