Woman sues famous singer after he gives her herpes

American singer-songwriter Usher recently paid $1.1 million to settle a lawsuit brought by a woman who claimed she contracted herpes from him after unprotected sex.

Court documents revealed the musician knowingly gave the unnamed woman the incurable virus after telling her he was “clean.” Usher was diagnosed with herpes between 2009 and 2010.

The files also claim that the woman saw something strange in his discharge and suggested he go see a doctor. The singer proceeded to attend a medical appointment and claimed everything was fine, so the woman continued to pursue the relationship. Soon after, she was diagnosed with herpes, complete with vaginal sores, fevers, and chills.

Passing on a sexually transmitted disease without informing your partner that you are aware of the condition is illegal under California law.

Thirty-eight-year-old Usher also paid for her medical bills amounting to $2,754.40 on top of the $1.1 million settlement.
