It’s been three years since the death of George Floyd. And since his death, one of the organizations behind the protests in support of him is in major financial trouble. I am of course referring to the Black Lives Matter organization, which is now ten years old since its initial founding.

Here are five things to know about Black Lives Matter, which will be a focus tonight of The DML Podcast.

1)- The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement was founded by three women: Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. It emerged in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s killer, George Zimmerman, in 2013. The movement gained further momentum following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014.

2)- The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) has reported that they raised over $90 million in 2020. They also claimed on their records they gave a quarter of it BLM chapters and local organizations.

3)- According to a Pew Research Survey in June of last year, 70% of American teens aged 13 to 17 expressed at least some level of support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Among these teenagers, 31% indicated strong support for the movement. In comparison, a March survey found that just over half (56%) of U.S. adults voiced their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. This level of support remained relatively consistent, with 55% expressing the same sentiment in surveys conducted in September 2021 and September 2020.

4)- Microsoft, TikTok, IBM, PayPal, Comcast, Netflix, Snapchat, Uber, Airbnb, Target, Ben & Jerry’s, Etsy, Sephora, Peloton, Shopify, DoorDash, Grubhub, Toms Shoes, Levi’s, Lululemon, and Nike are just a handful of companies that openly support Black Lives Matter.

5)- As of May 2023, the Black Lives Matter organization is on the brink of bankruptcy.

According to recently released financial disclosures, the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) experienced a significant financial setback. After running an $8.5 million deficit in the previous year, the organization’s investment accounts saw a decline of nearly $10 million in the most recent tax year. These findings were reported in a copy of the organization’s tax return, initially brought to light by The Washington Free Beacon.

The nonprofit’s latest Form 990 reveals that a loss of slightly over $961,000 occurred due to the sale of securities totaling $172,000. These disclosures indicate a year of challenges for the foundation, including financial missteps and a substantial decrease in donations.

    • Yes, absolutely no doubt about this. It was reported Patrisse Cullors bought a mansion in LA with the money. Why no IRS investigation, is because there are two justice systems.

    • Welp, we see Pedro the Shit Stain trailer trash is showing his MAGA-level intelligence again. Shit Stain, you might want to give up the morning alcohol

  1. I would have been a supporter if the money was really going to help their race but so far all I’ve seen is they took the money to line their own pockets .

  2. Wonderful news! They are nothing more than a Communist organization who has caused so much trouble. I would be more than happy if they disappear as fast as they appeared.

  3. So…where did the money go? The majority went into the pockets of the few at the top of that particular food chain. A portion of local BLM chapters got some money, but not a significant amount compared to the 90 million taken in. This was just a scheme to bilk people out of money.

For heaven’s sake people…support your charities but demand fiscal responsibility! These people just did what they wanted to with other people’s money with no accountability. Those who donated basically funded some hellacious shopping sprees.

  4. This comes to mind, you’ve heard the cliche, “You have to experience it, to really understand it!” which I believe in, wholeheartedly, good or bad.
I read the list of BLM financial disclosures…appalling! Scammers at work spreading evil! Live it to learn it!

  5. Sleazy joe will find a way to bail them out.
Just like him and kackling kamala did for the 90+ that were arrested in Kenosha WI, during the riot, looting and arson.

  6. BLM founders and participants should all be in prison, their mansions sold to pay for the damages they have done around our country and the monuments they have destroyed! Look at the sentences the Jan 6 people are getting and these scumbags walk free!!!!!

  7. They have been in it for the money from the begining. The only black lives that mattered were their own so they could live well and spend all the money on themselves.

They need to be marked as a terrorist group and arrested and charged with all the damage they have done and crimes they have committed.

God always wins, he is exposing them, their time will come.
