Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was charged on Thursday with DUI with injury by the Napa County District Attorney’s Office after he was involved in a crash on May 28.

A press release from the district attorney’s office states that Paul Pelosi had a blood alcohol content level of .082% after the crash, and said the blood sample was taken at 12:32 a.m., which was two hours after the collision occurred at 10:17 p.m.

In the press release, the Napa County District Attorney’s office wrote:

Today, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office issued a criminal complaint, filing charges against Paul Pelosi based upon an automobile collision and driving under the influence arrest on May 28th, 2022. The collision occurred on State Route 29 and Oakville Cross Road at 10:17 pm. A blood sample was taken from Mr. Pelosi at 12:32 am, and sent to the California Department of Justice for testing. Mr. Pelosi’s blood sample had a .082% blood alcohol content.

The charges filed today include Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Injury and Driving With .08% Blood Alcohol Level or Higher Causing Injury. Under California law, these charges can be filed as a misdemeanor or felony. Based upon the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim, the District Attorney filed misdemeanor charges. This decision is consistent with how our office handles these cases with similar injuries.

The punishment for driving under the influence causing injury as a misdemeanor is set by California law. It includes up to five years of probation, a minimum of five days in jail, installation of an ignition interlock device, fines and fees, completion of a court ordered drinking driver class, and other terms as appropriate. Mr. Pelosi was released from custody upon his promise to appear for an arraignment in Napa County Superior Court on August 3, 2022. The court date was selected by the Napa County Department of Corrections at the time of Mr. Pelosi’s release.

The survivor in this matter has exercised his rights under the California Constitution Article 1, section 28(b) as amended by “Marsy’s Law” to be treated with fairness and respect for his privacy and dignity, and to be free from intimidation, harassment and abuse throughout the criminal process. We ask that all members of the media honor the exercise of his right.

Although the incident happened on May 28, California officials finally released Mr. Pelosi’s mugshot on June 13, after being hounded repeatedly by Fox News.

Fox News reporter Chad Pergram shared a copy of the mugshot on Twitter and wrote:

From colleague Michael Lundin. Police release booking photo of Spkr Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi from late May after he was arrested for DUI. Napa County says decision to release or withhold mugshots is up to police. Not DA.

Napa County officials say “Mr. Pelosi received the same treatment under that policy that all individuals released from County Jail receive. No state law specifically requires the release of booking photos or mugshots, but policies regarding this topic can vary by jurisdiction.”

  1. MARCY’S LAW is about sexual assault, nothing to do with any of these charges!! Lol They’re trying to gaslight us here folks!!! 🤣🙄

  2. Well since he was at home when they took his blood I would think he left the scene but strangely no charges for that! 🤔

  3. Good I hope he goes to jail and Pelosie is probably upset and who cares what she thinks Pelosie and her husband are drunk people also I sure wished Pelosie was in his car drunk like her husband. And I hope the car owners will sue Pelosie for a lot of money not just a couple of thousand but millions. Pelosie is a bad example for drunk people and she needs to be removed just like Biden says you son of a bitch

  4. Yeah if that were me I’d probably get a felony. Nothings going to happen to him, I don’t care what they are saying. He will get away with it.

  5. Media can’t do ANYTHING right! His blood alcohol 2 HOURS AFTER THE ACCIDENT was .082…..They didn’t test tim until 2 HOURS LATER!!! Just how polluted was Mr. Nancy Piglosi directly after the accident?!?!

  6. Two things stand out to me: 1. Mr Pelosi must have turned down a field sobriety test on the scene of the accident (which means if his later blood test is over the limit he should immediately lose his license for double the time) and 2. Why was there two hours in between the accident and the blood test itself ? He sure almost got away with it. SMH
