HALF MOON BAY, Calif. — Seven people are dead and one is critically injured following shootings at two farms in Northern California’s Half Moon Bay Monday afternoon, a source confirmed to ABC7 News in the Bay Area.

According to multiple reports, four people were killed at the first location, and three others were shot to death at the second location.

An eighth victim was also shot and injured, and was reportedly airlifted to the hospital.

At least four of the victims were reportedly Chinese farm workers at a mountain mushroom farm.

The gunman has been taken into custody, and identified as Zhao Chunli, 67.

Below is the moment he was captured by police:

“Suspect is in custody. There is no ongoing threat to the community at this time,” the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office announced on Twitter.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom tweeted, “At the hospital meeting with victims of a mass shooting when I get pulled away to be briefed about another shooting. This time in Half Moon Bay. Tragedy upon tragedy.”

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) tried to cast blame on Republicans.

“Two mass shootings in California, days apart. This time in Half Moon Bay. The heartbreak for the victims and their families is unimaginable. This grief is preventable. We don’t have to endure constant gun tragedies. We can act. If Republicans in Congress showed some courage,” Schiff declared.

Prager U contributor CJ Pearson tweeted, “Seven people were shot to death moments ago in Half Moon Bay, CA. This comes days after 10 people were murdered in Los Angeles. California has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. The problem isn’t guns. It’s evil.”
