Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended liberal State Attorney Andrew Warren on Thursday.

DeSantis made the announcement during a Thursday press conference broadcast on social media. DeSantis argued that Warren has repeatedly refused to enforce laws passed by the legislature cracking down on child sex change surgeries and abortion restrictions.

The article goes on to state the following:

Officials said Warren has repeatedly tried to install himself as an adjudicator of what laws will and will not be enforced.

“The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in state attorneys,” DeSantis said. “We are not going to allow this pathogen of ignoring the law get a foothold in the state of Florida.”

“In June of 2021, he signed a letter saying that he would not enforce any prohibitions on sex change operations for minors,” he said.

“[Sex changes] are really disfiguring these young kids and he said ‘It doesn’t matter what the legislature does in the state of Florida,'” DeSantis went on.

DeSantis said Warren “signed a letter saying he would not enforce any laws relating to protecting the right to life in the state of Florida.”

“[Abortion restrictions up to 15 weeks] is what the legislature has enacted – it is not for him to put himself above that,” he said.

  7. Love this guy! Finally, someone upholding the law and putting feet to the fire. There are three separate but equal branches. Legislators allow the judicial branch to “interpret” the law instead of enforcing it.

  10. Other Republican’s in office could learn a lot of things from this man. If we had more in the Party leading like him over the past couple decades, things wouldn’t be so far off the rails as they are today.

    Ban all his nonprofit orgs that he owns or has ties to, as well!

  19. It is very intriguing to see someone like Andrew Warren who is thought to have the ability to think and reason who apparently needs to be locked up in an insane asylum. He is a great danger to our society.

You are brave, courageous, and a strong advocate for the weak, and underrepresented people of your state. Also, you have your eyes open to the injustices in the world, and act on correcting the incompetent AG in your state. Law and order prevails in Florida !

  22. DeSantis is right – there is a toxic trend among Democrats to do whatever the hell they think they want to do and ignore the laws and the courts. That States Attorney needs to be removed from office. California or NY might give him a job ignoring those laws.
