This is a breaking news story and will be updated.

Media outlets and critics commonly refer to the legislation as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill- a label the Florida governor adamantly refutes.

“When you actually look at the bill, and it says ‘no sexual instruction in grades pre-k through three,’” DeSantis said Friday. “How many parents want their kindergartners to have transgenderism or something injected into classroom instruction?”

“I think those are very young kids. I think the Legislature is basically trying to give parents assurance that they’re gonna be able to go, and this stuff isn’t going to be there. But there’s nothing in the bill that says anything about ‘you can’t say.’”

DeSantis also roasted a reporter for referring to the bill is anti-gay on Monday.

“The idea that you wouldn’t be honest about that and tell people what it actually says it’s why people don’t trust people like you,” he said.

  2. No, this is a bone tossed to parents to shut them up. It is not the school’s job to teach our kids how to be confused about sex. Two sexes. That’s what there are. Nothing different should be taught.
