(CNN) — Philadelphia police swarmed the area near a shooting in the city, Sgt. Eric Gripp said Wednesday via Twitter.

“Shooting incident 3700 N 15th Street. Suspect/(s) firing at police. Large police presence. AVOID AREA,” he wrote.

The article goes on to state the following:

Gripp, a spokesman for the public affairs office, also asked media helicopters to “pull back.”

Washington Examiner reported:

Several police officers were hospitalized after being shot in Philadelphia’s Nicetown-Tioga section on Wednesday according to officials.

Three officers were hit by gun fire on the 3700 block of North 15th Street including one shot in the hand, another in the head, and 1 in their arms. The officers were sent to the Temple University Hospital.

Officials have not released the conditions of the officers at this time.

CBS Philly reported that 5 officers have been injured in relation to this incident, and all have non-life threatening injuries. 4 were wounded by gunfire, 1 was injured in a car accident.
