Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-ND, suffered a “serious” hand injury and may need to undergo an amputation, his office announced Wednesday.

Cramer announced on Twitter that he suffered the injury while “working in the yard” this weekend, though he did not describe specifically what occurred. The injury is to his right hand, he said.

The article goes on to state the following:

Cramer says he will remain in North Dakota for the time being so he can receive medical care.

“I am alert and in good spirts. Although I am missing this week of votes and hearings, I am monitoring Senate business closely and in constant contact with my colleagues and staff,” Cramer wrote.

“I plan to return to Washington, D.C. after the Independence Day state work period and expect to be doling out a lot of left-handed fist bumps,” he added.

But wait… it’s not his whole hand, just his fingers.

Cramer’s spokesperson, Molly Block, then added in a separate tweet, “For those curious – the risk of amputation is for his fingers. @SenKevinCramer is cracking jokes that his future @NFL career is over.”

The reported injury then goes from a hand to just a finger, as Cramer wrote in another tweet, “Part of one little finger.”

Cramer did not explain how he injured his hand.

  1. Hope he does well but they’ve had votes by proxy before. If he’s in constant contact with his office call Cruz, Kennedy or if he’s a rino Graham.
