Outgoing President Donald Trump pardoned Albert J. Pirro, Jr., a New York attorney and the ex-husband of Fox News host Jeanine Pirro.

The pardon was announced Wednesday by Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere.

The article goes on to state the following:

Pirro was convicted of 34 counts of conspiracy and tax evasion in 2000, following an investigation that also saw his brother Anthony convicted. Pirro illegally deducted $1.2 million from his federal income taxes, saying the money was spent on business expenses. He instead spent the money on luxuries including a Chinese rug and a wrought iron fence for his pot-bellied pigs, according to the New York Times.

The report notes that Albert and Jeanine Pirro separated in 2007 and divorced in 2013. He was sentenced to 29 months in prison after his conviction in 2000, but was released after 17 months, due to good behavior.

The New York Daily News reported that President Trump granted the full pardon to Pirro after he arrived at his Mar-a-Lago estate, less than an hour before his term ended and Biden was inaugurated.

CBS correspondent Ben Tracy tweeted, “In what could be the final act of his presidency, President Trump just pardoned Albert Pirro Jr…the ex-husband of Fox News’ host Judge Jeanine.”

Several other reporters are also tweeting that the pardon was President Trump’s final executive action as president.

According to a report by the Daily Beast, Albert Pirro responded to the news by saying,“I’m in shock. I went to bed last night having read the list assuming I wasn’t getting a pardon. It certainly is a nice act on the part of the president. It has been 20 years since I served my time and it allows me to engage again in public companies which I haven’t been able to do previously.”

    • That’s what I was hoping for. He should have had a scorched earth policy and let all the cats out of the bag. Assange knows a lot more then has ever been released. The swamp is scared of that.
