The U.S. military carried out an airstrike against an Iranian-backed militia stronghold in Syria Thursday, a senior U.S. official told Fox News.

Multiple facilities were struck in the air attack, which was sanctioned by President Biden.

The article goes on to state the following:

The senior official said the strike was a defensive strategy, intended to halt and deter future rocket attacks by the militia group that recently hit Baghdad and Erbil.

Fox News National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin said in a Twitter post, “Senior US official confirms the US military carried out a single airstrike in Syria against a single location used by Iranian backed militias- multiple facilities struck tonight. President Biden approved the attack. Strike designed to deter rocket attacks against US forces in Iraq.”

Reuters reporter Idrees Ali wrote, “While the strikes appear to be the first retaliatory moves by the United States for what it says are attacks by Iranian-backed forces, the move was limited in scope and narrowly tailored to try and not lead to an escalatory cycle.”

  7. I suppose this is all ok, but when Trump took out an Iranian General who was plotting attacks against the United States with ISIS he was horrible! He was called a racist war monger!😡

  10. The Iranian rocket attacks in Iraq were carried out to test Biden’s resolve. They would have never done it if Trump was President for they knew he would teach them a lesson they’d never forget. Nonetheless, the Military responded here, not Biden, with a tit-for-tat, or, a mere slap on the wrist. With such a weak reaction, you can be certain that they’ll be more brazen with their next attack.
