Today is Aug 5, and these are the stories I am watching.

1-Trump denounces weekend’s horrific mass shootings
President Trump spoke forcefully Sunday as the nation reeled from its latest episodes of senseless violence: at least 20 people killed in El Paso, Texas, with a suspect apprehended by police, and at least nine killed in Dayton, Ohio, with the suspect fatally shot by responding officers. “Hate has no place in our country,” Trump declared, speaking to reporters in Morristown, N.J. He said the problem has been going on “for years and years” and “we have to get it stopped.”DML: The problem cannot be solved if we don’t identify the problem.  I own two guns, and I don’t agree with illegal immigration, but I don’t shoot people dead in Walmart. Why? Because I am not mentally ill.

2-Dayton gunman reportedly suspended twice during high school for compiling ‘hit list’ and ‘rape list’.
The gunman killed by police in Dayton, Ohio, after fatally shooting nine people, including his sister, and wounding more than two dozen others displayed signs of hostility years earlier, his former high school classmates say. According to reports, Conner Betts was suspended twice back in high school after compiling a “hit list” of classmates he wanted to kill and a “rape list” of those he wanted to sexually assault. A former principal of the high school in Bellbrook, Ohio, told the Dayton Daily News he “would not dispute the information” that the former classmates revealed to reporters.DML: Crazy. Crazy. Crazy. But lets blame the gun.

3-Trump supporter urging him to stay in longest war.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told Axios’ Jonathan Swan yesterday that he’d advised President Trump it would be a huge mistake, substantively and politically, to withdraw all U.S. military members from Afghanistan by the 2020 election.DML: Graham didn’t even poll at 1% during his 2016 election bid, don’t listen to him Mr President.

4-Brady continues on at 42.
Tom Brady, who turned 42 on Saturday, agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Patriots, running through the 2021 season. The NFL Network reported that the total value of Brady’s extension is $70 million. He’ll earn $23 million this season, an $8 million raise from what he was set to earn on his old deal.

DML: The man is defying age, and he’s super rich too.
