DMLNewsApp and TeamDML.com founder Dennis Michael Lynch hosted a Facebook Live video Wednesday afternoon to weigh in on two conflicting news reports.

The Department of Justice announced on Wednesday they will not pursue charges against the U.S. Capitol Police officer who allegedly shot and killed Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 riot in Washington, D.C. The DOJ said “there is insufficient evidence to support a criminal prosecution.”

DML noted that, unfortunately, Babbitt should not have climbed through that broken window to invade the Capitol building.

However, in another incident, Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis police officer Kim Potter was arrested on Wednesday and will be charged for second degree manslaughter for the shooting death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright.  DML argued that Wright also should not have resisted arrest and attempted to flee.

He compared the similarities of the two cases, and questioned why one officer is not being charged, but the other is.

  1. Such a sad double standard. I’m so disheartened about what is happening to our country. Sickening. All we can do is pray.

  2. So a black officer in the capital shoots a white person in the capital and he’s not charged with it.

A white officer shoots a criminal with a warrant for his arrest, he resists arrest, and he tries to flee and she goes to taser him and mistakenly pulls her gun and shoots him and she gets arrested.

What a double standard. What a bunch of BS
