1.Dems praise Biden for addressing immigration crisis and asylum seekers ahead of US-Mexico border visit
FoxNews–Democratic officials from across the United States have praised President Biden’s recent asylum announcement ahead of his first visit to the southern border on Sunday, which will be the first of his administration.

The announcement included details on how the Biden administration will better manage the flow of asylum seekers primarily from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. It came ahead of Biden’s visit to the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas on Sunday.

“Thank you to the Biden-Harris Administration for their renewed commitment to taking on immigration with the nuance and resources this issue deserves. We support policies that are fair and reflect our American values,” tweeted Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington, D.C.

Ryan Lynch: Biden went to the border for a headline, not to do something about the crisis. I can proudly say my Dad (DML) went straight to the southern border to film and document our country’s vulnerability at the southern border before anyone. If I could speak to Biden, I would tell him to eliminate the incentives that encourage these illegal aliens to come. A wall won’t work; they will dig under it or fly over it. They’ll stop if there is no reason to go to the United States. Implement nationwide e-verify!

2.Canadian doctor who’s euthanized 400 proudly shares how she helped kill man another medic deemed incapable of choosing assisted suicide – as obstetrician reveals she’s helped 300 to die in controversial program
DailyMail–A Canadian doctor who’s personally euthanized more than 400 people said she helped kill a man who was previously deemed unsuitable for assisted suicide.

Ellen Wiebe, a doctor who works with Dying With Dignity Canada, boasted in a seminar for physicians working in assisted suicide about the time she treated a patient who did not qualify for the end of life service.

A Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID) assessor had rejected the unnamed man because he did not have a serious illness or ‘the capacity to make informed decisions about his own personal health.’

But the man eventually made his way to Wiebe, who cleared him, flew him out to Vancouver, and euthanized him, The New Atlantic reports.

Ryan Lynch: The tweet is older but demonstrates what the Canadian government is implementing. That’s what free government healthcare gets you. Instead of treating the patient, the government decides to murder them to save money and time. If we want to accept it or not, the West is falling hard. The fact that Canadian companies are making money off of ‘assistant suicide’ is unbearable. The people at these companies will conduct these ‘procedures’ (murders) without visiting or suggesting options for the individuals. What is happening? We stormed beaches and airdropped into enemy territory to fight against SH*t like this.

3.China reopens borders in final farewell to zero-COVID
Reuters--Travellers streamed into China by air, land and sea on Sunday, many eager for long-awaited reunions, as Beijing opened borders that have been all but shut since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After three years, mainland China opened sea and land crossings with Hong Kong and ended a requirement for incoming travellers to quarantine, dismantling a final pillar of a zero-COVID policy that had shielded China’s 1.4 billion people from the virus but also cut them off from the rest of the world.

China’s easing over the past month of one of the world’s tightest COVID regimes followed historic protests against a policy that included frequent testing, curbs on movement and mass lockdowns that heavily damaged the second-biggest economy.

Ryan Lynch: The culprit finally decides to open up their country. Let’s investigate what really happened at the Wuhan lab!

4.The US needs fast growth: The Fed is against it
ThehHill–Fast economic growth solves problems. Slow growth causes them. China is trying to speed up growth again after Xi’s disastrous COVID-related mistakes while the Federal Reserve is raising interest rates and slamming on the brakes to fight inflation. China’s commitment to growth while the Fed goes in the opposite direction should worry Americans profoundly.

Fast growth is the foundation of progress. Electric vehicle and chip plants, roads and transportation systems get built and better jobs will come with them as President Biden’s infrastructure legislation will demonstrate. Fast growth eases transitions from old to new types of work. People are drawn from low wage jobs into better ones. Employers train employees in new skills to retain them. The belief that the Fed has to slow growth to fight inflation is poisonous because it makes change more difficult. It also is a narrative that always ends with inflation being blamed on high wages for working people.

Fed Chairman Jerome Powell and the Federal Reserve see fast growth as inflationary, so they have raised interest rates sharply to slow it. They want the stock market to fall further along with housing prices and rents. Most of them know in their bones that slow growth gives employers more control over employees, but they don’t advertise it. Fast growth on the other hand empowers working people. It makes employers pay childcare workers more and makes “essential workers” like teachers, fire and police, carpenters and plumbers, and people in the hospitality sector more expensive.

Ryan Lynch: Short-term and fast economic policies put our country in an inflationary crisis. Our government and U.S. companies should adopt a more long-term approach. We should always care for the next generation, not leave them the bill. Also, the United States is the most powerful country in the world. We shouldn’t depend on our enemies like China for the production and distribution of goods. We can make anything here in the U.S.; instead, we pawn it off to other countries to feel virtuous. Everything we talk about and the solutions we, the people, suggest all seem rational, no? Then why can’t Washington get it right? I’m tired of the B.S.. I want my country back!

5. Biden’s FCC nominee Gigi Sohn shared tweet calling Trump a ‘raggedy white supremacist president’
FoxNews–President Biden’s pick for an open seat on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) once shared a tweet labeling former President Donald Trump a “raggedy white supremacist president.”

In June 2020, Gigi Sohn retweeted a post from actress Issa Rae characterizing the former president as a white supremacist amid the unrest caused by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Rae’s tweet added that Trump would prefer to “kill everybody” than to make progress on racial justice issues.

“Your raggedy white supremacist president and his cowardly enablers would rather kill everybody than stop killing black people,” Rae said in the post later shared by Sohn.
