1.Ukraine says 39 killed in rocket strike on rail evacuation hub
LVIV/BORODYANKA, Ukraine, April 8 (Reuters) – At least 39 people were killed and 87 wounded on Friday when two rockets hit a railway station in eastern Ukraine packed with evacuees, Ukrainian authorities said, as the region braced for a major Russian offensive.
Reuters could not immediately verify the information coming from the city of Kramatorsk.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, governor of the Donetsk region, said thousands of civilians had been at the station at the time the rockets struck, in what he described as a deliberate attack. Many of the wounded were in serious condition, he said.

DML: As I have said since January, until the US cracks down on China the war in Ukraine will continue. China holds the cards, Putin is beholden to the Chinese. Without China there is no other solution, and this is why there appears to be no end in sight because sanctions on Russia is not enough.
2.Elon Musk says production of Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot could start next year
CNBC – Tesla may start production of a humanoid robot known as Optimus as early as next year, CEO Elon Musk said Thursday.
The electric vehicle maker first teased the robot, also known as the Tesla Bot, at its “AI Day” in Aug. 2021, saying it will be a general purpose machine capable of doing a wide range of tasks.
Tesla has yet to reveal a working prototype of the robot, however, and it’s unclear how sophisticated Optimus is at this stage. Musk claimed that Optimus will eventually be able do anything that humans don’t want to do, claiming that it will bring about an “age of abundance”.
DML: Can it scratch a guy’s back, cook, clean, and do laundry? I can’t get Mary to do those sort of thing these days. But then again, she’s never done those things. I’ll buy Elon’s robot for as long as it looks pretty in photos. (I can hear the women readers cursing me, relax, it’s a joke).

3.South Carolina killer could face firing squad in weeks after prison finishes new $53,000 death chamber
DailyMail – A South Carolina prison has scheduled its first execution after officials finished updating a $53,600 death chamber in Columbia to prepare for capital punishments by firing squad.
Richard Bernard Moore, 57, has spent over two decades on death row for the 1999 murder of store assistant James Mahoney, 42, in Spartanburg, and in a matter of weeks, he could be the first inmate in South Carolina to face the choice of execution by firing squad.
The last person to be executed by firing squad was in 2010, but as of Thursday, when the clerk of the State Supreme Court set an April 29 execution date for Moore, the inmate will have the added choice to the current options of lethal injection or electric chair.
Legislators changed the state’s capital punishment law last year to work around a decade-long pause in executions as the corrections department was not able to obtain drugs to use for a lethal injection.
Moore was set to face capital punishment in 2020 but it was deferred for this reason. But he is now likely to be the first inmate in South Carolina to face the choice of execution by firing squad.
The South Carolina state corrections agency said last month it had completed $53,600 in renovations on the death chamber in Columbia, installing a metal chair with restraints that faces a wall with a rectangular opening 15 feet (4.6 meters) away.
In the case of a firing squad execution, three volunteer shooters – all Corrections Department employees – will have rifles loaded with live ammunition, with their weapons trained on the inmate’s heart.
A hood will be placed over the head of the inmate, who will be given the opportunity to make a last statement.

DML: There’s a much easier way, subject him to Mary’s cooking for a week straight. It kills me every time. (Are my jokes bad this morning?) Don’t fret about how this guy dies, he is a murderer. However he dies, it doesn’t bring back the innocent victim.
4.Soros family quietly bankrolls committees supporting ‘defund the police’ candidates
Fox News – Liberal billionaire George Soros and his daughter, Andrea Soros Colombel, are bankrolling two entities that are supporting far-left politicians who back defunding the police, a Fox News Digital review of campaign finance records found.
The Soros money has flowed to a joint fundraising committee and a PAC attached to the efforts. The joint fundraising venture, called Lead the Way 2022, includes the Way to Lead PAC, Missouri Rep. Cori Bush’s campaign committee, and the campaigns of the 12 other progressive politicians attempting to enter Congress.
George Soros has long supported overhauling the criminal justice system. The financier has poured tens of millions into district attorney races and has dished out large sums to groups focused on police reform efforts, including financing a hub used by progressive activists pushing to dismantle the police.
According to Federal Election Commission records, Andrea Soros Colombel has shelled out $100,000 to Lead the Way 2022, the joint fundraising effort that includes the Way to Lead PAC and the campaigns of the progressive candidates.
George Soros has separately pushed cash into the Way to Lead PAC, which is attached to the joint fundraising effort. The financier moved $100,000 from his Democracy PAC over to the Way to Lead’s non-contribution account, which can be used on advertisements supporting or opposing candidates.
Any U.S. politician who has ever taken a dime from George Soros or is associated, in any way, with the World Economic Forum should be considered disqualified and removed from office immediately.

DML: Soros is pure evil.
5.Federal appeals court upholds Biden’s vaccination mandate for government workers
NY POST – A federal appeals court on Thursday upheld President Biden’s mandate for all US government workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans overturned a lower court’s ruling and said that Biden’s September mandate requiring federal workers and contractors to get jabbed was legal.
White House lawyers successfully argued that the president had the same authority as a CEO of a private company to impose vaccination guidelines on federal workers.
DML: The radical judges in this country are worse than the radical politicians. It is sickening to report this stuff. Nancy Plastic Pelosi has had how many vaccine shots and boosters? And yet she still gets Covid. The crap doesn’t work as advertised. I am a fan of boosting the immune system.
